The reason why I first participated in the KBU overseas employment language training program was simple. My interest was focused on new cultures and foods in other countries rather than overseas employment.

After taking the mock TOEIC test at school, my name was found on the list of successful applicants for Singapore training with the results of the TOEIC test.

The successful candidates received orientation and pre-training twice before going to Singapore. I received the overall explanation of the overseas employment support program, the place of training, and the schedule. I heard explanations such as simple precautions.

We are taking training at the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), a private university in Singapore. I heard that you will stay in the university dormitory.

While listening to pre-education, I began to find out what places to go around the accommodation. I was excited and excited to see what kind of country Singapore would be, which is a little bigger than Seoul and a mixture of cities and cultures.

It departed from Incheon International Airport in South Korea at 7 p.m. on July 16 and arrived at Singapore's Changi Airport after a six-hour long flight. The time difference between Singapore and Korea was 1 hour, which was 1 hour slower in Singapore.

It was 1 a.m. local time when I arrived at mdis after picking up my luggage at the airport.

I was waiting for all the trainees to gather and share their card keys. I sweated because it was hot and humid. Only then did I realize that I arrived in Singapore.

The employment support program held English classes with foreign instructors Peter at school from 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, and after that, they had time for local cultural experiences and industrial research in Singapore.

In English class, all conversations had to be in English, but at first, I was not used to it, so I had a hard time talking with gestures, and I had to concentrate on listening to Peter so that I wouldn't miss what Peter's words.

As I was educated in English for English composition, grammar education, and pronunciation correction, I was able to improve my listening skills naturally, and although I am still lacking a lot, my fear of talking in English disappeared a lot.

There was time to write English resume and cover letter. Peter told me in what format I should write down when writing an English resume and Cover Letter, and what I should be careful about, and pointed out awkward x-x-x-expressions so that I could correct them.

Since it was my first English resume, I still had a lot of things to revise, but I was proud to think that if I submit my English resume to the company, I might have an opportunity to get a job abroad.

On the last Friday afternoon, there was a table manners class, not an English class.

They told me the basic order of food, table manners to keep, and how to use napkins at the fine dining restaurant, and it was amazing that course dishes were served like real restaurants. It was a method of eating food while receiving education, but I think it will remain in memory for a long time.

Through this KBU overseas employment support program, not only was it possible to improve various English skills, but there was also a new interest in overseas employment in the process of investigating companies related to their majors. I thought that if I prepared steadily, I could get a job abroad, so I was able to strengthen my will to learn English and major.

MDIS was located in Queenstown, relatively central Singapore, so it was very convenient to travel to popular tourist attractions or areas where you wanted to go. I was able to have a good time traveling around various places with my new training colleagues.

There was no burden on transportation costs because of the tight MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), light rail, and buses in every corner of the city, and the simple and inexpensive routes.

Wherever I went, when I looked around, it was full of grass and trees, and the clear air seemed to make me healthy. And I couldn't find trash on the street, but I could feel that Singapore itself was paying great attention to cleanliness. In order to maintain cleanliness, there was always one trash can in each block, and in Korea, many street cleaners encountered it.

After visiting many places, I could have a good impression of Singapore because it felt like a clean area with good security, convenient transportation, and good living conditions.

My first opportunity to participate in this program was simple, but through this opportunity, I was able to improve my English grades, interest in overseas employment, and the need and willingness to study foreign languages.

I strongly recommend other students to strengthen their will and capabilities and create good opportunities to create new cultures.

I want to study English again starting with this training. Although I have learned English since elementary school, my mind about studying English has changed a lot. It's like a tool that makes you have more opportunities. Like this overseas employment training, I should constantly prepare and develop my skills so that I can get opportunities that will come to me in the future.
