Singapore which I experienced for 2 weeks had cleaner streets and very clear weather than Korea. When I first arrived in Singapore, I was harder because the weather was humid and hot than in Korea. During I went MDIS by bus, I saw the streets of Sigapore that were full of trees and plants, and it looks like a jungle. I saw variety buildings in Singapore. and I knew why Singapore is a tourist country.

The MDIS where we stayed and listened class had a good facilties and friendly teachers. Especially, I was satisfied with the air conditioning system. I think this helped me concentrate on my studies. However, There was one thing I wasn't satisfied. It was too much dust in the dormitory room. I couldn't sleep well for two weeks because I was allergic to dust. I thought it need to improve about cleaning.

On the first day in MDIS class, MDIS offered lunch. It was my first time eating Singapore food, so I was very excited. The food was not bad for Singapore food that I had for the first time. After All class was over, I went on a city tour with guide. I was very excited to see Singapore street for the first time. I went to tour famous places in Singapore such as Chinatown, Marina Bay by tour bus. While driving by tour bus, the guild told us the politics, culture, history and famous food&place of Singapore. and She told us good advice. For example, She told us that bus and train were better than taxi. and The chili crab tastes the same in places, but different prices. These became very useful information during we stayed in Singapore.

In Chinatown, We ate Kaya toast that was a one of the famous food in Singapore. It was crispy on the outside and sweet jam and butter on the inside, I ate it for 2 weeks because it was so delicious. On this day, I experienced Singapore briefly.  

The class was satisfying in MDIS. My professor, Andrew was always tried to explain in English that we could understand. and He led us to speak English instead of Korean. So I tried to talk to him every day by asking him more than five sentences of questions such as “Good morning, how are you today?”, “Did you enjoy your lunch?” or ask questions about essays and incomprehensible word. Through this, I seem to have lost my fear of talking with foreigners and become more confident and natural than before.

The assignment was also appropriate. The most helpful task was to interview foreigners. Our topic was health insurance in Singapore. At first, I thought that is too hard for me. So I spent a long time making questions in the survey. But Andrew gave us a lot of help and advice. Looking back on it now, I think it's a good choice. because I could meet local people in Singapore and go to the Singapore General Hospital. Also, I could have a special experience in Singapore than other friends.

In Singapore, The most memorable food is Song Fa bak-Kut-teh and Mango bing-soo. First of all, Song Fa bak-Kut-teh is like between Kal-bi-tang and Sam-gye-tan. The soup was really delicious. When I came to Korea, It was one of the food that reminded me. Next, Mango bing-soo was really something that we can not make in Korea. I wanted to keep eating mango. because it is really fresh. What was a bit disappointing here is that I was so full so I couldn't eat the local food. If I have a trip to Singapore next time, I want to go there again and eat the local food.

The best place in Singapore was the Gardens by the Bay. It was one of the famous place in Singapore. There were two dome. The first dome was flower dome. It was a huge and beautiful garden. If you like flowers and take a photo, you must come here. I took so many pictures with my friend here. The second dome was cloud forest. As soon as we entered in, there was a big waterfall. It was big and beautiful that I kept seeing it. I felt like I was in the forest. After the tour in the Dome, we went to see the Super Tree show that starts at 7:40. The super tree show was like a scene from an Avatar. The magnificent music and splendid show were so fantastic.

This summer language training was a great opportunity to know Singapore and to improve my English. but I felt a little shame for the short period of time. because I spent two weeks adjusting and preparing for the exam. I felt as if I had returned to Korea when I had the courage to talk to foreigners. Also, there seems to have been less restrictions on curfew than expected. It made me embarrassed to see my professor when I was in class because many people were sick or missed their morning classes. Otherwise it seems to have been a very satisfying training.
